Hey! I’m Jackie Cate :)

It all started when…

I was little girl, I always appreciated the arts. I was brought up in a loving and colorful home. My mother had our walls filled with beautiful paintings and photographs. Every little piece of decor and knick knack had it’s special meaning. I joined choir in 8th grade and sang throughout high school. The only time you will catch me singing is in the car or a random night of karaoke. We went to musicals, plays, and trips to museums. One of my favorite places to go was Chinatown. I have always been drawn to the beautiful Asian culture. The art and definitely the food! My father took us on vacations all over to beautiful destinations. My favorite place is to be by the ocean. The sound of the waves and sunshine on my skin is my happy place. I was given my first camera when I was in middle school and I took it everywhere with me.

I will always do everything that I can to capture special moments. The little things. The funny things. The in between things. ALL the things.

I attended Millikin University and majored as a BFA Studio Art. I practiced everything from drawing, print making and painting. I specialize in abstract paintings and lifestyle photography.

One thing I love the most is being able to slow down time through my photography. Life is always fleeting. Time feels like its constantly slipping away through my fingertips. Being able to capture these memories for myself and others is truly the most precious gift.

I have three beautiful sons and they are my world. I love being a mother and it has made me appreciate life so much more. They are my everything and the reason why I push myself every day so hard to be the best version me.

Capturing life is what I live for. So let’s create something magical together.
